About Our Nutrition at Thriving Minds Preschool
Thriving Minds provides a morning breakfast, a hot lunch, and an afternoon snack, with many organic options. We serve only spring water and organic milk. Our vegetables and fruits are GMO free and always part of our everyday menu.
We make it a point to serve only properly sourced foods whether proteins or carbs and/or vegetables and fruit. We have dedicated kitchen staff that manage allergies, portions and substitutions. We work closely with Real Food For Real Kids to establish menus that achieve our goals of healthy nutrition for all of the kids entrusted to us; always maintaining conformation to the Canadian Food Guide and the Day Nursery Act - and then some.
Thriving Minds looks to providing whole grain, multigrain and whole wheat breads, pastas and brown rice to make sure the nourishment children get in each meal is maximized. We seek a variety of foods, and we doubly check the ingredients to ensure the allergy substitutions are provided where necessary.
New seasons bring new foods with a four week rotating menu. This gives us an opportunity to provide a variety of foods throughout the year. Thriving Minds appreciates that students may have texture issues and can be very picky eaters at times. We are happy to accommodate substitutions as nutrition is key to developing minds. Most of the hard working children love to dig into new foods such as crisp asparagus in spring, or sweet potatoes in early fall / winter and harvest time fruits from the south. Each and every month we will put forward a variety of ethnic inspired dishes from around the world for the emerging palates of our busy eaters!
Real Food for Real Kids and ourselves make sure that our meal program meets and exceeds the minimum requirements of the:
Real Food for Real Kids' menus are always reviewed by a third party Registered Dietician and approved accordingly. We will always advise parents of any change in eating habits
