At Thriving Minds Preschool we understand the value of, and promote field trips to such places as the local library, farms, sanctuaries and more. We welcome visitors to the centre such as professional readers specializing in programs for the Preschool/Toddler age group. We have numerous character visitors throughout the year such as Princesses, Paw Patrol, Magic Show, and the Science Guys, Career along with the Art Attack Program. This helps to broaden the children's horizons and exposure to many different subjects and groups.
We want to prepare our children for their transition to Jr. Kindergarten. The best way to do this is in teaching them the skills they will likely be graded on in their first JK report cards such as:
Daycare Outdoor Activities
Our outdoor play areas are safe, consisting of rubberized turf material landing areas, play mulch, play and climbing structures rated from 6 months and up, child size houses and cars, and an array of outdoor play toys, nets, balls, large chalk board, among other fun items. We also provide a shed for storage to protect play materials from the elements and to ensure toys will always be ready to safely enjoy.
Physical activity is essential to learning. Exercise is a learned activity and hopefully stays with the child for a lifetime. Staying stationary for a long period of time dulls stimulation and slows down brain activity, memory and retention, and the learning and absorbing of information our children should experience. Playing, especially physical, is never ever a waste of time.
